Bette Davis has long been buried there. So have Gene Autry, Sandra Dee, John Ritter, Freddie Prinze, Isabel Sanford and Telly Savalas.
Two weeks ago, Ed McMahon joined them. And David Carradine two weeks before him.
Now, it's the King of Pop.
Today, at 8 a.m., Michael Jackson will be laid to rest in a lavish paradise of lush green lawns and million-dollar views in the
Hollywood Hills.
The immaculate and gentle grounds of Forest Lawn Memorial Park are home to some of Tinseltown's brightest stars, who now rest in green pastures and giant marble mausoleums.
"It's one of the greenest cemeteries in Los Angeles," said author and cemetery historian Lisa Burks. "It's immaculately kept by a massive groundskeeping crew who are very good, and it's notorious for guarding the privacy of their clients."
Cemetery officials wouldn't say where Jackson would end up on the massive grounds, but there was a flurry of activity at the posh Court of Liberty in the south section yesterday, where workers pruned trees and cut hedges, and a backhoe dug a fresh grave.
Buried nearby are stars like Buster Keaton, Stan Laurel and Ritter.
The centerpiece of the court is a bronze and marble statue of George Washington by legendary American sculptor Thomas Ball.
Another possible place for Jackson is the Court of Remembrance on the cemetery's north side, home to the giant stone tombs of Sandra Dee, Liberace and Prinze.
The American history-themed cemetery is part of the elite Forest Lawn chain.
"It's a gorgeous location," said Burks. "You can see the Verdugo Hills, you can see into Burbank, and when you're standing at Bette Davis' crypt, you can see Universal Studios and Disney."
Another Jackson family member is already there - Tito Jackson's first wife, Delores (DeeDee) Martes, who was murdered in 1994.
Hollywood Hills is 10 minutes away from Forest Lawn's Glendale Cemetery, the largest of the chain's properties.
Buried on those grounds are Humphrey Bogart, George Burns, Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis Jr., Walt Disney, Clark Gable and baseball legend Casey Stengel.
Private Jackson service precedes public memorial
LOS ANGELES – A motorcade that began at the home of Michael Jackson's parents reached a cemetery in the Hollywood Hills early Tuesday for a private service in advance of a star-studded memorial in downtown Los Angeles.
Numerous vehicles under California Highway Patrol escort headed out from the parents' home shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday and reached Forest Lawn Memorial Park Hollywood Hills about 15 minutes later.
Authorities shut down sections of freeways during the height of Los Angeles' morning rush hour to allow the motorcade to pass.
Jackson's family members and dozens of friends, led by his parents, Joe and Katherine, were seen walking into a hall at the cemetery where a small viewing was apparently held the night before.
After the private ceremony, Jackson's body will be taken to the singer's public memorial. Among the celebrities expected to attend the memorial are Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, Usher, Lionel Richie, Kobe Bryant, Jennifer Hudson, John Mayer and Martin Luther King III.
Police have blocked off roads and warned those without tickets to stay away because they would not be able to get near to the downtown venue.
Some fans were allowed past street barriers into the immediate area around the Staples Center early Tuesday. Dozens of street vendors lined up selling T-shirts, photos, buttons and other Jackson memorabilia.
More than 1.6 million people registered for free tickets to Jackson's memorial, but only 8,750 people were chosen to receive two tickets each.
Los Angeles was the epicenter of Jackson-mania, but the outpouring of emotion was worldwide. Belgium's two national public broadcasters were to broadcast the memorial live later Tuesday and several hundred Jackson fans gathered at a Hong Kong mall late Tuesday.
Holding white candles, Hong Kong singer William Chan and Taiwanese pop star Judy Chou led the audience in observing a 30-second silence. Many of the fans clutched red roses and wore black; some donned Jackson's trademark fedora hats.
In America, about 50 movie theaters across the country, from Los Angeles to Topeka, Kan., to Washington, D.C., were planning to broadcast the memorial live, for free. Jackson died at age 50 on June 25.
"There are certain people in our popular culture that just capture people's imaginations. And in death, they become even larger," President Barack Obama told CBS while in Moscow. "Now, I have to admit that it's also fed by a 24/7 media that is insatiable."

LOS ANGELES – Michael Jackson's body will be taken to the singer's star-studded memorial in downtown Los Angeles, adding to the spectacle that promises to be among the biggest celebrity sendoffs of all time.
"Mr. Jackson's remains will be going to the Staples Center. We're not giving any details," Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton said Tuesday.
Police have blocked off roads and warned those without tickets to stay away because they would not be able to get near to the downtown venue. Some fans were allowed past street barriers into the immediate area around the Staples Center early Tuesday.
More than 1.6 million people registered for free tickets to Jackson's memorial. A total of 8,750 people were chosen to receive two tickets each.
Among the memorial participants will be Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey,Usher, Lionel Richie, Kobe Bryant, Jennifer Hudson, John Mayer andMartin Luther King III.

"There are certain people in our popular culture that just capture people's imaginations. And in death, they become even larger," President Barack Obama told CBS while in Moscow. "Now, I have to admit that it's also fed by a 24/7 media that is insatiable."
All those involved say the heart of Los Angeles will become a circus. In one way, that characterization became literal early Tuesday.
Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey starts a run at Staples Center on Wednesday, a booking long planned in advance. In the pre-dawn hours before Jackson's memorial, the elephants walked from the train station to the arena, arriving some five hours before the memorial.
Early Tuesday, roads were closed and media massed at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles. The night before, activity had been spotted there involving the Jackson family.
La Toya Jackson, wearing sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat, was seen being driven away from the cemetery. KCAL-TV showed helicopter footage of a hearse backing up to the Hall of Liberty — a circular building at the cemetery that contains a 1,200-seat auditorium — to deliver a casket.
A few hours later, the casket was reloaded into the hearse and delivered to another nearby building, this time covered in a blue cloth.
Debbie Rowe, Jackson's ex-wife and the mother of Jackson's two oldest children, had planned to attend Tuesday's memorial but backed out Monday. "The onslaught of media attention has made it clear her attendance would be an unnecessary distraction," her attorney Marta Almli said in a statement.
ABC News on Tuesday aired portions of a 2003 interview with Rowe that was largely unaired in which she called Jackson's children "the ultimate love children."
"If it hadn't been for how much I love him, I would have never had children," she said. "People make remarks, `I can't believe she left her children.' Left them? I left my children? I did not leave my children. My children are with their father, where they're supposed to be."
She said Jackson was upset when his marriage to Lisa Marie Presley broke up because he wanted to be a father, so she told him "let me do this."
Rowe said Jackson was not a pedophile.
"He would not do anything inappropriate with a child, ever," she said. "It's not in him. I believe there are people who should be parents, and he's one of them. Always. From the day I met him. I could do something for him, and this is what I wanted to do."

Michael Jackson was a Super Star on earth and earned the Title of King of Pop Culture while he was still alive on earth. King Michael Jackson´s Essence has now Ascended to the next level of existence and into the next world of creation.
King Michael Jackson is seen in this photo with President Ronald Regan and First Lady Nancy Reagan at the White House in Washington, D.C. where President Ronald Reagan praised King Michael for being an exemplary Ambassador of Goodwill and setting a good example for others and specially young people with regards to being a good and clean human being with a good lifestyle for the American Culture.
Michael Jackson is an American Culture International Relations Icon and genius. We will always celebrate his creations. We need more Michael Jackson's in this world and specially Social and Business Entrepreneurs to spur on this economic recovery with morals and ethics that King Michael Jackson portrayed with his love of life and the world.
Michael never chose to smoke or drink. Michael was a hardworking individual and set a good example for the world of others by not smoking legal or illegal tobacco nor drinking alcoholic beverages which was quite accepted as the normal and had been marketed and advertised to the world through the television media.
Michael Jackson like Elvis Presley was invited to the White House, in Washington, D.C.
This was the way of the world in the past and is still that way today.
Today, President Barrack Obama had a Live Speech at the White House on CNN and other news stations regarding LGBT issues and the changes that will occur that will take time because of our past prejudices on earth such as the one of color such as black and white issues. President Barrack Obama mentioned that who would have thought only 40 years ago at the time of the Stonewall Inn Revolt on Raids in New York that the GLBT Advocates or him for that matter would be enjoying the White House. That was a broad statement that will carry historical meaning.
Michael Jackson was about changing historical meaning and wanted the world to be a better place.
Those of Michael Jackson´s parents era in the year he was born 1958 saw much marketing and promotions of cigarettes, beer, and strong alcohol products. Michael Joe Jackson was raised in a large family of 9 children with a good middle class all American central Untied States cultural background with respect for elders and others. Michael Jackson was said to have always been thinking and using his mind to learn new things.
Michael Jackson was a genius and was able to share his passions and desires to become a Super Star in this world.
King Michael was a special intelligent being with God given or what is called natural talents as an artist. King Michael came along to live a life that the world was seen through the media of television, newspapers, books, records, live entertainment shows, and taped for movies and television shows.
King Michael was one to share in the arts and the culture of American and the world. King Michael did have a multitude of talents as do most artists and geniuses who are sent to earth. Michael was discovered being talented by his father with his four brothers and a band was formed called the Jackson Five. Michael was the youngest. Michael and his brothers as the Jackson Five performed at a High School Talent Show and was so professional that those who saw the performance knew they could be great.
Motown has just celebrated their 50 year anniversary at about the time that Michael celebrated his 25th anniversary of his first big album hit of all times sales on earth called THRILLER. Michael has sold over 75 million albums in his time which holds the record and probably will. Michael was discovered by his father but professionally in Motown Records with Berry Gordy and later with the assistance of the famous Quincy Jones created the album THRILLER.
Michael was such a talented dancer and creator that he could not only create his own songs such as the one he created with Lionel Ritchie called WE ARE THE WORLD but many famous songs prior to that one such as Beat it, Billie Jean, Bad, and many others. Michael Jackson began the story telling video with professional choreography as a short musical for Music Videos. One would have to admit that it was Michael Jackson that put MTV on the map for others to follow.
Michael Jackson´s thriller video story began with Michael and a girl sitting in a movie house watching a movie about werewolves which leads the girl into believing in her mind that they were in the movie only to wake up from her illusion and find herself at home with Michael but the whole scene is played out with ghouls from a graveyard and the story is in the song Thriller. Michael was a creative genius but was sensitive to the times and was on the cutting edge and was way before his time as an artist. The world was just waking up to what music videos could accomplish for artist and their managers and producers.
Michael was able to show people in the music industry and television industry how to get richer. Michael was able to create rich beyond rich for Music Entertainers and took the music industry beyond just selling albums but the whole package. Michael was a walking and talking Las Vegas Show that people could not get enough of with his singing, music, entertaining story telling in live action played out on video.
Michael had learned to use his whole body-mind-spirit unit that was his to share and create his world to share with all others. Michael Jackson would play out the fantasy world for all the Common Joe´s and Jill´s that had to work and could only celebrate life on the weekends by learning to dance to his music and people learned new dance steps which he created for his music videos and live shows. The world of people on earth today most all know of Michael Jackson or have heard his music. Many young adults will now learn of his fame, fortune, contributions to American and International culture.
Michael Jackson was about energy, sound, waves, synergy, creation, sharing, caring, and making others aware of what life is all about. Michael showed others about being an entrepreneur and obtaining life goals. Michael Jackson will be missed by the world but will represent a life on earth that was just beginning to share earth with beings without regard to race, color, creed, or ethnic origins but as intelligent caring beings coming together as a WE as in We are the World.
Michael Jackson did a wonderful thing for the world before there was a Tiger Woods, or Barrack Obama. Michael Jackson made it easy to see and enjoy a person beyond their skin color and even took it to the next level by showing us that black, white, or brown skin color did not matter. Michael Jackson even had another song that and video about It Doesn´t matter if It´s black or white with a song and video called BLACK OR WHITE. There was a story behind all his genius messages to the world.
Michael Jackson was changing American Culture in his genius as a singer, songwriter, dancer, entertainer, storyteller in Visual and Performing Arts as a professional Visual and Performing Artist. Michael Jackson was making a new statement of 50 shows in London and sold out and this was the THIS IS IT tour or last and final tour of which Michael was the epitome of what IT is. Michael Jackson was the IT in all of us.
There is something that artists managers and producers look for such as the IT that American Idol looks for in the future new American Idol of Paul Abdul and Randy Jackson. Michael Jackson set the bar of perfectionism so high for Visual and Performing Artists that there will never be another like Michael Jackson. Thus we have the King of Pop who single handedly changed the whole world and taught us in one song what life could be in the future if we all make the world a better place as he told us in WE ARE THE WORLD with his many friends who gave of their time to change the world regarding poverty and starvation as seen of those dealing with hunger in Africa. Michael Jackson had a love for all people and specially those of Africa. There was a great spirit attachment to Michael Jackson because he showed that he was a gentle spirit and cared for all beings and specially children for which he created a world where he lived called NEVERLAND.
Neverland was his home which he created as a mansion on 12 acres of land in Los Angeles area of California. The said cost to run this theme park mansion, museum, was $10 million a year. Neverland was the creation home where Michael spent his time. Michael has a treasure trove of memorabilia in his famous coats and hats. The entertaining in public will be remembered through what we are creating now in memories and what others who are in charge of his memorabilia and estate with his children and friends will create in Michael Jackson´s honor for his fans to remember and celebrate his memories left to the Global Community and our Earth Culture in Amazing Visual and Performing Arts, and a Memorialized Tribute as a Neverland Touring Museum.
With the millions of fans and those yet to be born, we can all hope that we can share in visiting the Neverland Plantation Grounds and all that Michael created. I know when I go to Los Angeles on business, I always had to tour Universal and would now love to tour NEVERLAND and the sculptured gardens, a riding train, merry-go-round and other carnival rides. Michael also had an exotic animal zoo for children. I can hope that there will be plenty of Michaels dolls, look-a-like costumes, and a MUSEUM of all his real costumes. Neverland will always be memorialized as is the Graceland of Elvis Presley, King of Rock-N-Roll in Memphis, Tennessee.
Neverland was a place that represents how Michael Jackson felt about being immortal and never having to grow up which exemplifies the Christian Faith of Be Ye as little children meaning to always be learning and being amazed with life on earth and see the wonderment in all things.
Neverland was similar to the world of Peter Pan that was a Fairy tale and was played out in a Disney Movie called Peter Pan. In the movie there was a boy called Peter Pan with an up turned nose of which Michael Jackson later had his formed for Michael was always creating and recreating his image. Michael although loved by the world never felt truly loved or that he looked the way he should to please himself or others who were his fans.
Michael was always competing with his image to be something else and even wrote a song about himself and the MAN IN THE MIRROR of which he wrote a song. To be continued as a tribute to the King and Pop Icon King Michael Jackson the mirror image in all of us who will now be immortalized in all of his creations as he was truly a genius artist of this world. The family of Michael Jackson has asked for a second Autopsy report and the toxicology report is said to take approximately 4 to 6 weeks in general although a rush has been asked to be put on Michael Jackson´s because the world wants to know.
As the world mourns the loss of a great intelligent being and artists some know and grieve over what Michael had to endure due to exploitation of who he had become as a millionaire and his affection for children having shared his life at Neverland with children. Katherine Jackson is said to not agree with her son being immortalized and laid to rest at the Neverland Mansion and sculptured gardens.
This may or may not have anything to do with Michael's past acquittals of court cases where his fans agree that he was innocent of any charges brought up by those who desire to obtain money from Michael and saw him as an easy target. Many of Michael Jackson's fans kept up with his life and news through the media. Many people knew of Michaels life that was made public. Michael was the King of Pop and a famous Super Star public figure. Sometimes, the media will take the dark side of allegations and sensationalize them for ratings and believing this was what the world wanted to hear. Sometimes the truth is important to hear to make proper decisions so we can learn from our mistakes. This was why Michael spent thousands if not millions on attorneys to defend himself and even went as far to pay for commercial air time at a high cost to explain to others what had happened to him, and could happen to all of us.
The history of Michael Jackson is being shared all over the various mixed new media. During shows like CNN, Larry King, Nancy Grace, and Geraldo Rivera there has been mentions of Michaels wonderful achievements on earth and past pain and allegations made over the time of his entire life from his first working with the Jackson Five and his father Joe Jackson as Manager. We the people know that there were pains that Michael endured since his confession of need for prescription drugs in 1993.
There will have to be a history and accounting made up to this point as a separate part of enduring life. Please my readers that we are all here to share life and we all have our own paths and rocks in the road. Some are pebbles some are rocks but we learn to maneuver around them. Let´s all now share in the accolades, celebrations, and assist in creating what we want on earth with the immortalizing of all of King Michael Jackson Creations of which we can share in remembrance and put the old past of pain and hurt behind us as a world of Michael Jackson lovers. Michael Jackson did more to inspire change than President Barrack Obama at this time.
King Michael left us a rather large diary of memories, goods, and services to collect as the total global community population. We are all beneficiaries of his wealth and worth on earth. Kink Michael Jackson had chosen path of ascension and enlightenment and did practice meditation and knew of many things that was taught to him by life coaches and spiritual advisors.
We all know he was a genius and spiritual being and one of the gifted that came to earth to teach us what life can be like if we use our talents to create good things as an artist for others to share. Michael Jackson will always be known as a genius in Art & Entertainment and will be remembered and immortalized. Michael Jackson is part of our history on earth from 1958 through 2009 with the 50 years of Motown Records and Pop as he single handedly taught us MTV Videos in television media. Michael Jackson was the first to create the story, script, music, song, dance, choreography, model for us all with his video THRILLER.
BLACK OR WHITE and WE ARE THE WORLD are compassionate heart felt messages that touched our very souls. We are a better world because of Michael Jackson. Michael Joe Jackson earned the title of King just like his father-in-law Elvis Presley and there are more similarities to their spiritual body-mind-spirit mindsets while their lights burned so brightly as Super Stars during their time and eras of records and recording on earth in entertainment. Political figures come and go on earth and world leaders are remembered in history like prior Kings of great civilizations.
King Presley and King Jackson will go down in earth's history as changing the world and the way we look at the power of synergy and coming together as one people on one planet in one galaxy in space. We love our essences as energy that can be shared with others in the world and art and science comes together with recordings in the visual and performing arts through the sciences of electronic communications and space, and now satellites in space for all of humanity to enjoy the past stars and the future stars to come to earth as gifted spirits. We are all essences of spirit and share a energy that can be seen in our media.
We will miss King Michael Jackson but are sure that he as ascended and therefore celebrate his life and what he left behind as a tribute.
Michael Jackson was honored and paid tribute at the BET Awards where Janet Jackson and Father Joe Jackson showed up to support Michael's friends and their sharing in celebration of Michaels Art and Entertainment Accomplishments. Janet Jackson at the end of the Bet Awards did say a few words and thanked the friends, and reminded everyone that although Michael Jackson is an Icon to the world that he is family to the Jackson Family and will always be in the memories and hearts. Janek Jackson was outfitted in white as was Beyonce Knowles both looking like angels in honor of Michael Jackson. The black in mourning was a color that Michael Jackson had made famous and was wearing the last rehearsal night that he was dancing with choreographer and male dancers that were to go to London with him for the 50 Show "THIS IS IT" FINAL CURTAIN CALL PERFORMANCES in London, U.K.
All tickets were sold out in a few short hours for a total of an alleged $68 million in sales of tickets. Now, Michael will join the famous celebrities who like all great and famous artists throughout history are worth more dead than alive.
This is sad but true. There are many starving artists today that will someday be famous from their creativity and left behind creations in art, media, videos, sound bites, books, photos, and all other products that others can share as memorabilia and collectors items. We all know about how the future of Elvis Presley turned out after his death.
Elvis Presley's Graceland will still be making money long after most of us are gone and when Michael Jackson's NEVERLAND Estate, park, amusement park, zoo, museum, and tourist shop gets up and going it will certainly be worth more in money to the children of Michael Jackson. There will be some debts owed from past expenditures but with good management as was Elvis Presley's Estate as did Priscilla Presley and Lisa Presley, the 3 children will be well taken care of by the public's donations to the upkeep of NEVERLAND for MICHAEL out of love and devotion to his DREAM of IMMORTALITY.
KING MICHAEL JACKSON IS A LEGEND. THRILLER celebrated 25 years of interest in 2008. Michael Jackson sold over 15 million single units which is a record in this world for Art & Entertainment sales and product promotions.
MICHAEL JACKSON was an Entrepreneur both Business and Social with an Inventor's Mind and Talent.
WE SHOULD HOPE THAT HE WILL BE LAID TO REST IN NEVERLAND! WE CAN HOPE THAT WE CAN ALL VISIT HIM AT NEVERLAND!
This may not happen but would be a wonderful place for the world to know that they could visit. It may be something the Jackson Family will consider once the pain of the loss is not so strong and the family sees how much that Michael Jackson meant to the entire world. The world knows that NEVERLAND was created by Michael Jackson as his home.
Let´s hope that Disney or AEG or some large corporation will agree to set up a perpetual care for his fans to maintain by paying admission to the Neverland Mansion, Gardens, Them Park, Museum, and maybe even be able to have a nice restaurant on the Neverland Acreage.
It would be a nice tribute to the Art & Entertainment Industry to have LA share the King of Pops last Bellaire Mansion Home.
Michael Jackson's three children, Prince Michael, age 12, Paris Michael, age11, and Prince Michael II, age 7, lived with Michael.
The children were close to the Jackson Family who loves children and all the Jackson Family are said to visit and play with each other and will know each other like the Donny and Marie Osmond talented family who has had shows with their talented family. It would be expected that the Michael Jackson children be trained in the Visual and Performing Arts. The education of children is regarded as high on the list of prominent American Families.
Jesse Jackson was called into comfort the family as a Spiritual Adviser and mentioned that the education of Michael's children was one of the concerns of Both Joe and Katherine Jackson. Janet Jackson is said to be handling the famous Michael Jackson Estate along with the parents. There has not been a lot of media press on La Toya, Jermaine, Tito, and the other brothers of the Jackson Five yet but the world is waiting for the statements of the whole family and how they will participate in sharing their Jackson Memorial with the world.
Katherine Jackson as asked for custody of the children as their Grandmother. Katherine has been granted temporary custody today on Monday, June 30, 2009 by a judge. The children are now at the Jackson Family home and compound.
There will be a story of the Jackson Family and how they will continue the Jackson Family Heritage and Legend that Michael Jackson added the most in creativity and fame to the Jackson name. The great state of California and the United States of America has the most to gain in the tourism industry and the sale of products, as goods and services with the Michael Jackson Global Enterprises.
Michael Jackson's untimely death can bring about a transformational movement for action, loyalty, and transformation with his WE ARE THE WORLD MOVEMENT in not just art and entertainment but in the total global community if the Jackson Family will allow the world to share in the commemoration medals, monuments, memorials, accolades, tributes, fanfares, and finally the tourism industry that we so enjoy around the world.
King Michael Jackson's World has only just begun. There could be only one KING OF POP and ICON and the world is a better place for having this man in history with us as witnesses of this history at this time on earth.
Michael Jackson's father, Joe Jackson, once not only his biological creator but his manager said, "I wish Michael was here to see this." Meaning all the world's coming out to show their respects to Michael who will be missed.
The future will need a place for people to come and learn of Michael in the future. If the City of Los Angeles could also immortalize the Michael Jackson BELLAIRE ESTATE Mansion where he PASSED AND ASCENDED by purchasing the home from it's present owner and running it as a museum of Art & Entertainment this would set a precedence in Art that we have for our Presidents with their Presidential Libraries.
Why not museums such as the ones we have in Nashville for Country Music Stars?
Sure we have Music Hall of Fames and then Niche Genres but we also have Graceland for the King of Rock-N-Roll and that has gone through various managers.
The MICHAEL JACKSON TRIBUTE has just begun for many people of earth now and in the future.
mj memorial
You may be tired of Michael Jackson news getting all up in your tech bubble, but we have one last item before we lay the topic (and MJ) to rest—literally. Fans already know that the King of Pop's memorial takes place today at 1pm Eastern Time (10am Pacific), but unless you're a millionaire or somehow have the luck of a lottery winner, you probably don't have a ticket to go see it in person. However, if you're stuck at work with nothing but a computer and an Internet connection, you're not out of luck; there are numerous ways to watch the service live online.
First, the usual suspects. Hulu, which has streamed other major broadcast events like the Presidential Inauguration, is offering a live stream of the MJ memorial beginning at 12:55pm Eastern Time. What's unique about the Hulu stream is that you can embed it in a webpage just like most other Hulu videos. We have faith in Hulu's connection not crapping out, too.
CNN and Facebook have also teamed up to offer a live stream. The page is only accessible from CNN's website as a pop-up (so far as we can tell) with a live updating version of your Facebook page on the right-hand side so you can see what your friends and others watching are saying. This is kind of a neat touch—if you're sick of watching what total strangers are talking about, just flip over to your friends and keep it a private event. CNN's stream is also likely to withstand the Web traffic, so it's a good place to camp out online.

Preparing for the Michael Jackson funeral online, Internet connection problems and finding live feeds, photos and video amidst bogus websites.
Michael Jackson’s funeral will air on television and online on Tuesday July 7, 2009. This day may pose problems for online access whether or not Michael Jackson funeral live feeds, photos and video is sought. Fans should also prepare for Internet congestion and bogus website claims.
For starters, many sites claim to have the Michael Jackson funeral live and online already, even though the event has yet to take place. Some of these are harmless sites, others are not. Otherwise, Michael Jackson's funeral is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and a number of legitimate live feeds from the nearby Nokia Center will be available but may be difficult to access. When seeking to get a live feed of Michael Jackson's funeral, event photos, video or news – or to avoid Internet use problems – follow these tips:
-- Conduct important transactions online on Monday – or defer to Wednesday –to best avoid Internet congestion problems related to the event. --Look at the domain name before clicking on a link. Stick with established sources, be it CNN, TMZ or Examiner to best avoid spyware and bait-and-switch website techniques. -- Prepare for popular websites hosting funeral video and live feeds to be inaccessible temporarily. YouTube videos, for instance, may be slow to load. Try again rather than clicking on random sites haphazardly. -- Get the facts on the Michael Jackson funeral and related memorials in advance. As mentioned, the Michael Jackson funeral is to be held at the Staples Center with a live televised feed expected at the Nokia Theater. Some websites may have domain names with similar spellings or play off the Michael Jackson name. Look for “Official“ websites via a search engine.
Michael Jackson funeral and Internet traffic Perhaps, the interest in Michael Jackson’s death and funeral is difficult to grasp. The closest comparison based on worldwide popularity may be Princess Diana’s death in Sept. 1996. Here, an estimated 2.5 billion people watched the funeral on television alone.
\ Back then, of course, Twitter, YouTube or SMS messaging – among other technologies – didn’t exist, and the Internet was a loosely organized somewhat rare commodity. Add to this the record-breaking visits to websites with stories on Michael Jackson’s death. From this, a rough prediction on search volume for the Michael Jackson funeral can be applied.
The feverish number may well be in the billions on and around July 7. Individuals with dial-up, public wireless or low-end broadband will fare worse than higher-speed connections.

michael jackson funeral live
Michael Jackson funeral and Internet traffic
Perhaps, the interest in Michael Jackson’s death and funeral is difficult to grasp. The closest comparison based on worldwide popularity may be Princess Diana’s death in Sept. 1996. Here, an estimated 2.5 billion people watched the funeral on television alone.
\
Back then, of course, Twitter, YouTube or SMS messaging – among other technologies – didn’t exist, and the Internet was a loosely organized somewhat rare commodity.

Powerful sedative found in Michael Jackson's home
Diprivan is an anesthetic widely used in operating rooms to induce unconsciousness. Also known as Propofol, it's given intravenously and is very unusual to have in a private home.
The law enforcement official spoke on condition of anonymity because the person was not authorized to speak about the matter.
A Los Angeles Police spokesman, Lt. John Romero, declined to discuss the case. "It's an ongoing investigation," he said.
The cause of Jackson's death has not been determined. Autopsy results are not expected for several weeks.
At the downtown Staples Center, where Jackson's memorial will be held Tuesday morning, Assistant Police Chief Earl Paysinger said anywhere from 250,000 to 700,000 people could try to reach the arena, even though only 17,500 tickets will be available.
City Councilwoman Jan Perry urged people to stay home and watch the memorial on TV. There will not be a funeral procession through the city.
Tickets to Jackson's memorial service will be free. They can be obtained by registering at Staplescenter.com. There will be 11,000 tickets for seats inside Staples Center and 6,500 for seats in the adjacent Nokia Theatre, where fans can watch a simulcast. On Saturday night, 8,750 names will be randomly selected to receive two tickets each.
No details about the memorial service itself were released.
Jackson was known to have suffered from severe insomnia. In the weeks before his death, Cherilyn Lee, a registered nurse who was working with the singer, said Jackson pleaded for Diprivan amid the stress of preparing for a massive series of comeback concerts.
Lee said she repeatedly rejected his demands because the drug was unsafe.
Told Friday that Diprivan had been found at Jackson's house, she said, "I did everything I could to warn him against it."
Jackson had trouble sleeping as far back as 1989, said one of his former publicists, Rob Goldstone, who spent a month on the road with Jackson during the "Bad" tour.
"He had very bad nightmares, he found it very difficult to sleep," Goldstone said.
Diprivan, which has a milky appearance, is sometimes nicknamed "milk of amnesia." Last fall, doctors from the Mayo Clinic warned at a conference that in rare cases, Diprivan can trigger an irreversible chain of events leading to heart dysfunction and death.
They said three patients receiving Diprivan to treat severe seizures had suffered cardiac arrest, and two died. The doctors said the clinic stopped using Diprivan to treat such patients because of the danger.
The drug's manufacturer, AstraZeneca PLC, warns that patients using Diprivan should be continuously monitored, and in a tiny number of cases patients using it have suffered cardiac arrest, although it was not clear the drug was to blame.
Authorities are investigating allegations that the 50-year-old Jackson had been consuming painkillers, sedatives and antidepressants. Any criminal charges would depend on whether Jackson had been overly prescribed medications, given drugs inappropriate for his needs, or if doctors knowingly prescribed Jackson medications under an assumed name.
Edward Chernoff, an attorney for Jackson's doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray, said Friday through a spokeswoman that he had agreed with investigators not to comment until information is released through official channels. Murray was in Jackson's rented mansion when the singer went into cardiac arrest in his bedroom on June 25.
Murray has spoken to police and authorities say he is not a suspect. In an earlier interview, Chernoff said Murray never gave or prescribed Jackson the painkillers Demerol or OxyContin, and denied reports suggesting that the doctor gave the pop star drugs that contributed to his death.
Chernoff would not discuss what drugs the doctor administered to Jackson, but said they would have been prescribed in response to a specific complaint.
